Luis Rojo de Castro inicia su labor académica en el Departamento de Proyectos Arquitectónicos de esta Escuela en 1992. En la actualidad ocupa una plaza de profesor Titular de Universidad, impartiendo enseñanza de Proyectos en el Grado en Fundamentos de Arquitectura, es Secretario Académico y coordinador de Línea del MPAA y miembro de la Comisón Académica del Programa de Doctorado. Recibió la Beca Fulbright en 1987/89, obteniendo un Master in Architecture en el Graduate School of Design, Harvard University en 1989 y el título de Doctor en el DPA ETSAM UPM en 2014.
Ha sido Profesor Visitante en el Core Program del Graduate School of Design, Harvard University entre 1994 y 1998, impartiendo Option Studios in Architecture en 2002, 2006 y 2011. Entre 1999 y 2012 fue Profesor Invitado de Teoría e Historia de la UNAV, Visiting Professor of Architecture en el City College of New York en 2016 y en 2018 Profesor Invitado en el Master de Diseño Arquitectónico en la UNAV
Es co-editor de la revista CIRCO COOP, miembro del Comité de Redacción de la revista Cuaderno de Proyectos Arquitectónicos, así como del Comité Científico de Critic|All.
Ha impartido conferencias en el Harvard School of Design, la Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya, School of Architecture at the University of Illinois Chicago, el Leibniz Universität Hannover School of Architecture, la Escuela del Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne (EPFL), the BAS School of Architecture at the City College of New York y The Cooper Union (NY)

Luis Rojo de Castro obtained a degree on architecturefrom the ETSAM, where has been teaching architecture design since 1992. He further obtained a Masters degree at the Graduate School of Design, Harvard University and a Ph_D in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
He is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture, teaching design studios at the undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as Labs and Workshops at the Master for Advanced Architecture program. He is currently the Academic Secretary of the MPAA Master Program and member of the Ph D Academic Commission.
He’s been Visiting Critic of Architecture at the GSD on regular basis between 1994 and 1998, and again in 2001, 2006 and 2011. From 1999 to 2012 has been a regular Visiting Professor of History and Architecture Theory at the UNAV. In 2016 was appointed Visiting Professor of Architecture at the City College of New York, in 2018 Visiting Professor at the Masters Program in Architecture at the UNAV and in 2019 Visiting Critic in Architecture at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou.
As a result of his academic and research practice, his writings on contemporary architecture have been published in A+U, El Croquis, Cassabella, Tectónica, Revista Arquitectura, CIRCO, Rassegna, El País journal, and has lecture at the Harvard School of Design, the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya, the School of Architecture at the University of Illinois Chicago, the Leibniz Universität Hannover School of Architecture, the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne (EPFL), the BAS School of Architecture at the City College of New York and The Cooper Union (NY)
