Navarro Ríos, Víctor

Víctor Navarro (1979) es doctor arquitecto por la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) y profesor de proyectos en la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM). Ha sido profesor en la Universidad Europea de Madrid (ETSAM) y en el GSD de la Universidad de Harvard.  Ha dirigido talleres y cursos de proyectos en la escuela de arte HEAD en Ginebra, Suiza y en la Universidad de verano Menéndez Pelayo en Santander (UIMP).

Junto con María Langarita fundo en 2005 la oficina de arquitectura Langarita Navarro, con sede en Madrid. Su obra ha recibido diversos premios internacionales, como la Mención especial al arquitecto emergente del Premio de Arquitectura Contemporánea de la Unión Europea – Premio Mies van der Rohe por el proyecto de la Red Bull Music Academy, y el premio ar+d Award for Emerging Architecture. También han recibido diversos premios nacionales como el premio de la Bienal Española de Arquitectura y Urbanismo, el Premio COAM, el Premio AD Heineken Nuevos Valores o el Premio FAD de Arquitectura.

Su trabajo ha sido seleccionado en diversas muestras, como la Bienal de Arquitectura de Venecia, la Bienal Iberoamericana de Arquitectura y Urbanismo o la Bienal Española de Arquitectura y Urbanismo, y ha sido expuesto en el Architekturzentrum de Viena, en el Royal Institute of British Architects. Su obra forma parte de la colección permanente del Centre Pompidou.

Montoya Saiz, Paula

Paula Montoya es Doctora Arquitecta por la Escuela Técnica de Arquitectura de Madrid, donde imparte docencia desde hace 24 años en el área de Proyectos Arquitectónicos.
Es miembro del Comité científico de EDUMEET, para la innovación docente en Arquitectura.

Es también RIBA DIPLOMA part II por la Bartlett School of Architecture de Londres.
En 1993-1994 trabajo en el estudio de Alison y Peter Smithson.
Titulada en 1997, colabora en los estudios de Foster and Partners en Londres, y de César Ruiz-Larrea y Andrés Perea en Madrid.

Desde 2005 trabaja en Madrid en su propio estudio, que en la actualidad se denomina  ANY SCALE ARCHITECTURE. Desarrolla proyectos de una amplia variedad escalar y tipológica, planteando intervenciones arquitectónicas desde planteamientos de desarrollo sostenible. Recientemente, ha iniciado una serie de proyectos de cooperación para entornos vulnerables en Latinoamérica.

Su marcado interés por la incorporación de los entornos computacionales a la producción arquitectónica, se traslada de manera paralela a su línea de investigación académica y a la inserción de herramientas y conceptos de inteligencia artificial en sus proyectos.
Ha realizado estancias en Londres en Imperial College.
Su obra diseñada y construida comprende edificios residenciales, culturales y multiusos de múltiples escalas.  

Ha recibido varias distinciones nacionales e internacionales como el LAFARGE_HOLCIM Acknowledgemet Prize for sustainable architecture,  dos premios EUROPAN (EDICIONES 6 Y 10) Joint Commendation Prize, el premio de sostenibilidad de la Empresa Municipal de la Vivienda de Madrid.
Su obra ha sido publicada y expuesta en España, el Reino Unido, Portugal, Suiza, Estonia, Brasil, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Colombia y México.
Su trabajo se seleccionó para ser expuesto en la Bienal de Arquitectura de Sao Paulo 2011 y la Bienale de Archittetura di Venezia 2018.

Ha dado numerosas conferencias y ha sido invitada como crítica en varias instituciones académicas españolas e internacionales (IAAC, COAM, CENTRO CENTRO, Bartlett School of Architecture, Harvard Graduate School of Design).

Entre 2004 y 2006 desempeñó el cargo de Secretaria General del Consejo Superior de los Colegios de Arquitectos de España.

Paula Montoya holds a PhD in Architecture from the Escuela Técnica de Arquitectura de Madrid, where she has been teaching for 24 years in the area of Architectural Projects.
She is member of the Scientific Commitee of EDUMEET for innovation in Architecture Education.

She also holds a RIBA DIPLOMA part II from the Bartlett School of Architecture in London.
In 1993-1994 she worked in the studio of Alison and Peter Smithson.
Graduated in 1997, she collaborated in the studios of Foster and Partners in London, and César Ruiz-Larrea and Andrés Perea in Madrid.

Since 2005 she has been working in Madrid in her own studio, currently called ANY SCALE ARCHITECTURE. He develops projects of a wide variety of scales and typologies, proposing architectural interventions based on sustainable development approaches. Recently, he has initiated a series of cooperation projects for vulnerable environments in Latin America.

His marked interest in the incorporation of computational environments into architectural production runs parallel to his line of academic research and the insertion of Artificial Intelligence tools and concepts in his projects.
He has spent time in London at Imperial College.
His designed and built work includes residential, cultural and multipurpose buildings of multiple scales.

She presented her work at the Sao Paulo Bienale 2011 and the  Venice Bienale 2018.

She has given numerous lectures and has been invited as a critic in several Spanish and international academic institutions (Bartlett School of Architecture, Harvard Graduate School of Design).

Between 2004 and 2006 she held the position of Secretary General of the Consejo Superior de los Colegios de Arquitectos de España.

Mayoral Moratilla, José

José Mayoral Moratilla es arquitecto por la ETSAS (2010), Master de Arquitectura en Harvard GSD (2014) y doctor por la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile y la IUAV de Venecia (2022). Desde 2017, es fundador del estudio de arquitectura PRÁCTICA, con el que ha obtenido 12 premios en concursos de arquitectura. Además, ha trabajado en varios estudios de arquitectura internacionales: entre ellos, Herzog & de Meuron, en Basilea, Suiza, (2010-2012) y Abalos-Sentkiewicz, en Cambridge, Massachusetts, Estados Unidos, (2014).

 
Recientemente, ha comisariado la XX Bienal de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de Chile titulada ‘Dialogos lmpostergables’. Su trabajo ha sido expuesto en el MoMa (2015) y ha diseñado el ‘Pabellón de Urbanismo Efímero’ (2016) y el pabellón ‘Somes River’ (2021) en la Bienal de Arquitectura de Venecia. Entre sus publicaciones, destacan ser co-autor del libro ‘Ephemeral Urbanism: Cities in Constant Flux’ (2016), co-editor de libro ‘Planning with Conservation: Looking at Agra’ (2016), coautor y coeditor del libro ‘Ephemeral Urbanism: Does permanence matter?’ (2017), coeditor de la monografía ‘Hashim Sarkis Studios 1998-2017’ (2017) y editor invitado de la Revista Materia (2019).

 

A su vez, José Mayoral ha recibido diversas becas y premios; entre ellos, la beca ARQUIA (2010), la beca Talentia (2012-2014), el Faculty Design Award en Harvard GSD por el mejor portafolio de su promoción (2014) y la beca Conycit (2015-2019).

José Mayoral Moratilla is an architect at ETSAS (2010), Master of Architecture at Harvard GSD (2014), and PhD at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and IUAV of Venice (2022). Juarranz Serrano, Ángela

Ángela Juarranz es Doctora Arquitecta por la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, donde también completó sus estudios de Arquitectura y Máster en Proyectos Avanzados. Es Profesora de Grado y Máster en el Departamento de Proyectos Arquitectónicos de la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid. Ha sido Visiting Scholar en la Universidad de Columbia en Nueva York, así como conferenciante y tribunal en universidades nacionales e internacionales, como Central Sant Martins en University of the Arts London, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Barnard College en University of Columbia, School of Architecture and Design en IE University o IED Istituto Europeo di Design.

 

Su labor académica ha sido reconocida, entre otras, con la III Beca de Investigación en Nueva York, de la Fundación Arquia y la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando; la Beca FPU, del Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte; el Premio COAM Difusión 2020; la Muestra de Investigación de la XIV Bienal Española de Arquitectura; la XVI Bienal de Venecia; y la Bienal Internacional de Arquitectura de Argentina 2014. Desde 2019 es miembro y Secretaria de Redacción del Comité Editorial de Cuadernos de Proyectos Arquitectónicos (UPM). Gelabert Amengual, Antoni

Toni Gelabert (Palma, 1983) es arquitecto por la ETSA de Barcelona – UPC (2008) y Máster en Proyectos Arquitectónicos Avanzados por la ETSA de Madrid- UPM (2011). Durante su formación fue becado tanto por la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid – UPM como por la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – UPC para el desarrollo de trabajos de investigación acerca de la arquitectura contemporánea y su docencia.

Su Tesis Doctoral, titulada Sobre el Concepto de Contingencia en Arquitectura. Afinidades desestabilizadoras del objeto arquitectónico (2017, Mención Internacional), traza posibles respuestas operativas desde la arquitectura a la contingencia que enfrentan los objetos que produce y recoge su interés por el trabajo con la incertidumbre en la arquitectura contemporánea. Ha sido comisario del ciclo de conferencias Arguments #3 : Making Matters.

Es además miembro del Grupo de Investigación UPM Cultura del Hábitat.

Su obra investigadora ha sido ampliamente compartida en revistas y congresos nacionales e internacionales y reconocida con premios como la VIII Bienal Iberoamericana de Arquitectura y Urbanismo 2012 (finalista), Pabellón Español de la 16 Bienal de Arquitectura de Venecia 2018, XII Bienal Iberoamericana de Arquitectura y Urbanismo 2022 (seleccionada).

Desde el 2017 es profesor Asociado del Departamento de Proyectos de la ETSAM, UPM. Es además profesor de Proyectos en el Grado en Diseño de Interiores de la ETSAM. Ha sido profesor en el Máster Tricontinental en Proyectos Arquitectónicos Integrados de la Universidad Europea de Madrid – UEM y Profesor Extranjero Invitado en la Farq – Facultad de Arquitectura de la Universidad de la República de Montevideo. También ha sido director de varias ediciones de talleres de verano dedicados a la investigación sobre la transformación del entorno mediterráneo bajo la presión (social, económica, ambiental) del turismo. Ha sido miembro del Grupo de Innovación Docente UPM Dispositivos Aglutinadores de Proyecto y participante en varios proyectos de Innovación Docente UPM.

Desde 2011 dirige su propia oficina de arquitectura toni gelabert arquitectura, dedicada al pensamiento y producción de arquitectura en todas sus escalas, inserta en una red prolífica de colaboración, temporal y promiscua. Actualmente la oficina se encuentra desarrollando obras, proyectos y concursos en todo el territorio nacional, destacando las siguientes obras obtenidas en concursos públicos: Museo de la Semana Santa en Zamora, Centro de día en María de la Salut, Nave industrial y oficinas en Llucmajor, Reforma del Albergue de La Victoria en Alcúdia. Su trabajo a lo largo de estos años ha sido ampliamente expuesto, publicado y premiado, destacando: XVI BEAU Bienal Española de Arquitectura y Urbanismo 2023 (premiado Biblioteca y Teatro de Boadilla del Monte y seleccionado Sala VIP ARCO 2021), Premios COAM 2023. Toni Gelabert (Palma, 1983) is an architect from the ETSA of Barcelona – UPC (2008) and a Master in Advanced Architectural Projects from the ETSA of Madrid – UPM (2011). During his training he received scholarships from both the Polytechnic University of Madrid – UPM and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia – UPC for the development of research work on contemporary architecture and its teaching.

His PhD, titled On the Concept of Contingency in Architecture. Destabilizing affinities of the architectural object (2017, International Mention), traces possible operational responses from architecture to the contingency faced by the objects it produces and reflects his interest in working with uncertainty in contemporary architecture He has curated the lecture series Arguments #3: Making Matters.

He is also a member of the UPM Research Group Habitat Culture.

His research work has been widely shared in national and international magazines and conferences and recognized with awards such as the VIII Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism 2012 (finalist), Spanish Pavilion of the 16th Venice Architecture Biennial 2018, XII Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism 2022 (selected).

Since 2017 he has been an Associate Professor of Architectural Design Department of the ETSAM, UPM. He is also a Design Professor in the Interior Design Degree at ETSAM. He has been a professor in the Tricontinental Master in Integrated Architectural Projects at the European University of Madrid – UEM and a Guest Foreign Professor at the Farq – Faculty of Architecture of the University of the Republic of Montevideo. He has also been director of several editions of summer workshops dedicated to research on the transformation of the Mediterranean environment under the pressure (social, economic, environmental) of tourism. He has been a member of the UPM Teaching Innovation Group Project Binding Devices and a participant in several UPM Teaching Innovation projects.

Since 2011, he runs his own architecture office, toni gelabert arquitectura, dedicated to the thought and production of architecture at all its scales, inserted in a prolific network of collaborations, temporary and promiscuous. Currently the office is developing works, projects and competitions throughout the national territory, highlighting the following works obtained in public competitions: Semana Santa Museum in Zamora, Daycare Center in María de la Salut, Industrial warehouse and offices in Llucmajor, La Victoria Hostel refurbishment in Alcúdia.
