Pedro Pitarch, arquitecto (ETSAM, UPM) y músico (COM Cáceres).

Premio Extraordinario Fin de Carrera de la ETSAM (UPM, 2014), Archiprix International (Hunter Douglas Award 2015), Superscape – Future Urban Living Award (Viena, Austria 2016) y Steedman Fellow for Architecture (de la Washington University en St. Louis, USA, 2017).

Es profesor asociado del Departamento de Proyectos Arquitectónicos en la ETSAM-UPM. Ha sido profesor de proyectos en la Bartlett School of Architecture (Teaching Fellow in Architectural Design, University College of London), siendo responsable de la unidad docente UG10 del BSc Architecture (ARB/RIBA Part1) (2017-2019). Ha sido Profesor de Proyecto Audiovisual en el Master en Comunicación Arquitectónica (MaCA-UPM) (2015-2017).

Su trabajo ha sido expuesto en la 16ª edición de la Bienal de Arquitectura de Venecia, en la 4ª Trienal de Arquitectura de Lisboa, en la Triennale de Milano, en Architectus Omnibus (Instituto Cervantes/Goethe Institute), en la 9 edición del EME3 Architectural Festival y en la Vienna Design Week.

Ha recibido diversos premios en Concursos Internacionales de arquitectura. Entre ellos: Quinto Premio en “Berlin–Brandenburg 2070 – 100 Years of GrossBerlin” (Alemania, 2020), Segundo Premio en “Dom Competition” (Russia, 2018) for Alternative Layouts in Social Housing, Segundo Premio para el “New Cyprus Museum” (Chipre, 2017), Primer Premio ex-aequo con “La Fabrica Cultural” para la restauración de la fábrica CLESA (Madrid, 2015).

Ha sido Finalista del Debut Award de la IV Trienal de Arquitectura de Lisboa.

En 2015 funda ‘Pedro Pitarch Architectures & Urbanisms’ oficina de arquitectura con sede en Madrid.

Sus proyectos y textos han sido publicados en revistas y medios como Arquitectura Viva, Pasajes Arquitectura, Plataforma Arquitectura, Domus, Yorokobu, Fisuras, Cartha, Bartlebooth, Afasia, PitCrit, Architectorial, 255 y Desierto (Paper Architectural Histamine).

Su práctica profesional se desarrolla en una posición tangencial a la arquitectura, investigando las relaciones entre la producción de cultura contemporánea y la construcción de sociedades.

He is currently Associate Teacher at the Architecture Faculty of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETSAM-UPM). He has been Teaching Fellow in Architectural Design at the Bartlett School of Architecture (University College of London), teaching both at UG-5 and UG-10 of the BSc Architecture (ARB/RIBA Part1).  He has given lectures in several universities in USA, UK, Spain and Austria.

His work has been exhibited at the 16th Venice Architecture Biennale, 2020 Triennale Milano, 4th Lisbon Architecture Triennale, Architectus Omnibus, 9th EME3 and 2016 Vienna Design Week.

He has received Prizes and Mentions in several International Competitions such as Fifth Prize in ‘Berlin Brandenburg 2070 – 100 Years of GrossBerlin’ (Germany, 2020), Second Prize in Dom Competition (Russia, 2018), Second Prize for ‘New Cyprus Museum’ (Cyprus, 2017), First Prize for Clesa Building Restoration (Madrid, 2015).

He has been shortlisted for the Debut Award of the IV Lisbon Triennale of Architecture.

In 2015 he founded ‘Pedro Pitarch Architectures & Urbanisms’, an architectural office based in Madrid.

His projects and writings have been published in several magazines and platforms such as Domus, Arquitectura Viva, Pasajes, El País, Archdaily or Plataforma Arquitectura.

He wanders in a somewhat tangential position to architectural practice, focusing on the interrelations between contemporary culture production and the construction of societies.
